TIME TRAVEL TO THE PAST OR FUTURE

If given the choice between travelling to the future or the past, I would choose the past, because I know all the events that have happened, and I would love to see them for myself. Besides, the future terrifies me, because it's uncertain, I'd rather wait for its time.

I am quite fond of history, and assuming that I will experience the journey into the past as a spectator, I would like to go and witness the great Mesoamerican civilisations, because they had beautiful architecture, organisation and conceptions that are different from the America of the 21st century. Therefore, I would like to learn about all the development that the Mexica reached, in Tenochtitlan for example. What would have become of these civilisations without the massacre and colonialism? My trip would only serve to learn and try to bring back cultural aspects and knowledge from the past to the present.

Also, and with the same objective as above, I would like to visit the Roman Empire, as I am personally a big fan of Greco-Roman history; wars, territorial expansion, culture, architecture, thinkers, etc. And visiting Rome at the height of the empire, and seeing the people, markets, landscapes, would be so magical. I could also visit Pompeii, a mythical place full of mystery to this day.

In short, I prefer the past for the certainty, the future will come, while we can continually learn from the past.

 

A PHOTOGRAPH YOU LIKE

This Pulitzer Prize winning photo was taken by cameraman Malcom Browne, in the context of protest against the Vietnamese goverment in 1963. When we look closely at the scene it becomes quite frightening. We can identify a buddhist monk sitting in the middle of the street, as he stands still, flames surround him, killing him. This monk was fighting for religious freedom in Vietnam, as buddhism wasnt recognized as the country's official religion. 

This photo is very touching, it moves me because it reflects the social struggle of the people and their actions in the face of a useless goverment. 

This photo also served as the cover for the first studio album of RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, one of my favorite bands and that speaks exactly the message that this photo portrays, the human being searching for true freedom.

YOUR BUCKET LISt

Hopefully I will never think in create a bucket list, on second thought, can be a little disruptive, but well, is always well think about the future.

There are many activities that I would like to do, mostly I like life experiences, for example; Go to all concert that I like, being with my friends and family, enjoy day to day, culturize me. But I admit that material goals are also important, for example, get a home (house, departament, anyone), a job, a partner, a son or daughter, are beatiful things for do into life. Also, I have laboral goals, because in biochemestry the effort and initiative is very relevant (is not the only thing, of course), among these objectives are to research and collaborate with the development of science in Chile, of course in the area that I like the most.

I am currently in progress of fulfilling my life goals, I know there is a long way to go.

 TV SHOWS AND SERIES

In my childhood, the TV series were so special, because it was the main mode of entertaiment. I remember arrived of the school and watch cartoon network, for example, the marvelous misadventures of Flapjack, it was amazing and funny. But the greatest show of my childhood earns it for 31 minutos. I remember that I watch this show from VHS, because my parents recorded when broadcaster on TV, so I watched this show countless times.

Currently, I consider myself like a lover of cinema and all of this art, therefore I continue watching series and movies always I can. My courrent favourite series is not one in particular, but is a universe. Let me explain, I really fan and follower of Breaking Bad universe, it was compund of: Breaking Bad, El Camino: A breaking bad movie and Better Call Saul. This series talk and transmit a genuine sense of suspense and drama, highlighting his script. 

Also, the time dont let me watch all series in the world. A series Ive always wanted to watch is Los Sopranos, in fact, and with the words of Vince Gilligan (Creator of Breaking Bad), If the sopranos hadnt existed, breaking bad would havent existed.

The last series I watched was Chainsaw man, which is currently on the air and is very popular on young people and I really liked.

THE BEST CONCERT EVER

 Radiohead in Chile (2018)

I am a person who like the music in general, therefore think in the best concert that I listen is very difficult, but there is one that was amazing and moved me a lot, I talk about Radiohead in 2018.

Radiohead is a band that I inherited from my father, and I have heard it entire of my life, so when I knowed that arrive to Chile, it was my obligation to go.

The concert was very long, which they started with daydreaming and more songs of his last album, then his play songs of Ok Computer and In Raimbows, especially emphasizing the song Weird Fishes/Arpeggi, which that song very important for me, I felt the real valor of the grand moment. In general the concert was amazing, they review all his discography, travelling trought the years and emotions.

Obiouslly, after of concert I had a void in my soul, which fills with more music and hope that someday they will back to Chile. Today, 2022, the visit has not a date yet.

A COUNTRY I WOULD LIKE TO VISIT

I would really like to go to Greece, because it is a country full of history, from the great Greek polis, for example Athens or Sparta and the political and territorial battles that surrounded them, also the enormous mythology that they developed, their gods are fabulous, because each one is different with an excellent story behind. Coming to Greece, the places I want to go are Athens or Thera. First, in Athens we can find the parthenon, the acropolis, the olympic temple of zeus and more. 

However, I would not like to live there, but if I find a job related to science (specifically biochemistry), then I will accept to go to Greece to live, besides, I could do a course of Greek history taking advantage of the fabulous country. 

In short, Greece is a country that suits my tastes, but for the moment I would like to go only for tourism, although life always gives many surprises.
